Splurge

Ever since my eyesight improved so much that I don’t wear prescription lenses to drive, I haven’t had a decent pair of sunglasses.

After searching the internet for a pair of Ray-Ban Clubmaster sunglasses I decided I should actually try a pair on before laying down serious money.

I popped into a local Sunglass Hut and tried on tortoise Clubmasters with green glass polarized lenses.  They felt very comfortable.

Presented with a $50 discount on a second pair and a 20% discount on the entire purchase I also tried on a pair of gradient aviators.

I bought them both. They’ll be great on our trip to the Grand Canyon.

Do you have a special pair of glasses?

Welcome to The Glade, where the second generation of renovations has just begun and the mania about our home, music and other passions fill our days and nights. We’re Charlie and Jo in the music world; Mary Jo and Charles to family; and JoJo and Charlie to each other. We are renovating a midcentury house in a Victorian historic district where we want to live there the rest of our lives. It's a 1946 house located in Maryland. We were married in this house. Thus far (pre-blog) we refinished cabinets, added a window seat (still working on the cushion), rearranged a wall in the guest house due to sink/vanity replacement, planted a vegetable garden, and other quick and not-so-quick fixes. So this latest zeal for construction is the result of my having lived here since 1997 and feeling a need to ready the house for the next chapter and beyond.

    1. I don’t know how my sight improved but my distance vision for which I have worn corrective lenses since childhood started to improve in my late 40s. I’m not sure if it was progressive or happened all at once. I just know that I was renewing my driver’s license and the agent said to try reading the eye test without glasses. I told her I couldn’t but she said to try anyway. I tried and passed the test with no problem. Now I have very clear distance vision. I do wear reading glasses now but I am no longer myopic. Jo
