Pillow Shopping

I visited our local model home clearance center (I try to visit at least once a month to check out the inventory) and found some good deals on throw pillows.

The pillows are only $5 each. The first one I spotted was this oblong paisley pillow. The back is blue velvet.

A soft, beautiful, blue velvet pillow which would work in any room in the house was also available.

I keep tweaking.

Since I’m planning to keep the loveseats in the conservatory I’ll use it there to start.

I like a substantial pillow in the 1950s vintage Bergere chairs in the living room because the seat is very roomy.

I bought grey cut-velvet pillow.

Just as I was getting ready to stand in the checkout line I saw a smaller pale grey pillow embroidered with over-size pussy willows.

Soft and cute.

I’m using this one in the bedroom with my new pale pink sheets that I received as a birthday present.

What have you had fun purchasing?

Welcome to The Glade, where the second generation of renovations has just begun and the mania about our home, music and other passions fill our days and nights. We’re Charlie and Jo in the music world; Mary Jo and Charles to family; and JoJo and Charlie to each other. We are renovating a midcentury house in a Victorian historic district where we want to live there the rest of our lives. It's a 1946 house located in Maryland. We were married in this house. Thus far (pre-blog) we refinished cabinets, added a window seat (still working on the cushion), rearranged a wall in the guest house due to sink/vanity replacement, planted a vegetable garden, and other quick and not-so-quick fixes. So this latest zeal for construction is the result of my having lived here since 1997 and feeling a need to ready the house for the next chapter and beyond.
