Ikea Shopping List

My tenant and I are headed to Ikea this afternoon to pick up a sofa for the offsite project.

We'll be replacing this sofa with an Ikea Ektorp.

The shopping list has diminished but here it is.

I’m going to look at Ingert curtains made from cotton and flax and Aina all-linen curtains.  Perhaps these would look great in the house.

Welcome to The Glade, where the second generation of renovations has just begun and the mania about our home, music and other passions fill our days and nights. We’re Charlie and Jo in the music world; Mary Jo and Charles to family; and JoJo and Charlie to each other. We are renovating a midcentury house in a Victorian historic district where we want to live there the rest of our lives. It's a 1946 house located in Maryland. We were married in this house. Thus far (pre-blog) we refinished cabinets, added a window seat (still working on the cushion), rearranged a wall in the guest house due to sink/vanity replacement, planted a vegetable garden, and other quick and not-so-quick fixes. So this latest zeal for construction is the result of my having lived here since 1997 and feeling a need to ready the house for the next chapter and beyond.

  1. Those all look very tempting. I’m cursed or blessed to not have an Ikea close by. It has probably saved me lots of money. Have fun shopping, even though the list is reduced.

    1. I actually chose a more neutral one for the offsite project which I thought would go better with pinks and burgundies. The owner decided on the pale blue. At my house I have a dark grey cover and a white one which I use interchangeably with the seasons. Jo

  2. A trip to Ikea is always fun! We have one a few miles away, and they’re building a bigger, badder, 2-story store. Can’t wait till it opens in spring. We’ll have to learn a new route through the maze. Happy hunting!

    1. Our big Ikea is too near DC to go there on inauguration day. Unfortunately the smaller one north of Baltimore didn’t have a great selection but we got the main items we went for. Jo
