More Seasonal Fun

I worked out my plan for last weekend and unbelievably finished everything on the list.

Fresh flowers always seem to spruce up a room.

  1.  All my Christmas shopping is purchased and wrapped. I would love to give the details but then my family would discover what I got them. Not yet.
  2. All the music I need to learn in 2016 is memorized.  That’s a load off my mind or maybe that’s a load on my mind.
  3. The Christmas programs I write and direct are going into final rehearsals.  Looking forward to the performances and relaxing afterward.
These double lilies are large and fantastic without the colored stamen that plague other lilies.

Double Asiatic lilies from a friend dominate the living room both visually and aromatically.

I’ve started pulling out Christmas decorations.  This wooden herald angel plays the French horn.

All three olive trees are in the house for the winter.

Do you have a deadline before the new year for a project’s completion?

Welcome to The Glade, where the second generation of renovations has just begun and the mania about our home, music and other passions fill our days and nights. We’re Charlie and Jo in the music world; Mary Jo and Charles to family; and JoJo and Charlie to each other. We are renovating a midcentury house in a Victorian historic district where we want to live there the rest of our lives. It's a 1946 house located in Maryland. We were married in this house. Thus far (pre-blog) we refinished cabinets, added a window seat (still working on the cushion), rearranged a wall in the guest house due to sink/vanity replacement, planted a vegetable garden, and other quick and not-so-quick fixes. So this latest zeal for construction is the result of my having lived here since 1997 and feeling a need to ready the house for the next chapter and beyond.
