A Busy Weekend

I love working on house projects but this coming weekend I’m working on seasonal items.

I'm the gift buyer and wrapper in our family.

First I plan to wrap up my Christmas shopping both figuratively and literally.

I still have lots of music to learn.

I have 3 songs to memorize.

I usually write on the computer.

Then I’ve got to write the narration for two Christmas services.

Charlie's building fires to keep the walkers warm.

And one Walk to Bethlehem.

Then I can relax and enjoy the season.

Are you finished your shopping?

Welcome to The Glade, where the second generation of renovations has just begun and the mania about our home, music and other passions fill our days and nights. We’re Charlie and Jo in the music world; Mary Jo and Charles to family; and JoJo and Charlie to each other. We are renovating a midcentury house in a Victorian historic district where we want to live there the rest of our lives. It's a 1946 house located in Maryland. We were married in this house. Thus far (pre-blog) we refinished cabinets, added a window seat (still working on the cushion), rearranged a wall in the guest house due to sink/vanity replacement, planted a vegetable garden, and other quick and not-so-quick fixes. So this latest zeal for construction is the result of my having lived here since 1997 and feeling a need to ready the house for the next chapter and beyond.

  1. Part way there, but a few little things purchased a few months ago are either very well stored or lost in the break in. You have lots to do, Jo!

    1. I also stash things away and am unable to put my hands on them at the propitious time. Started memorizing the music this morning — going to begin writing this evening. It’s always better when I have a plan. Jo
