I’m planning to have a dinner party sometime in the next few months.
Wanting to serve something a little more chichi* than a rotisserie chicken, I remember in the long ago past having made a recipe called “Chicken Barbarossa.” The only thing I can recall is that it uses Galliano in the ingredients.
After searching the web for both “Chicken Barbarossa” in all its various spellings and chicken recipes with Galliano, I came up empty.
Then, as I was cleaning up the back bedroom, I found a blank recipe book, called Culinary Heritage Family Recipes Handed Down Yours and Mine, that my mother had given me.
The idea is that the wife’s side and the husband’s side both submit recipes that will all be in this one book.
I had only written a few recipes down because I usually just make things up in my head. Lo and behold, there was “Chicken Barbarossa” in the poultry section. The one ingredient I was sure about (Galliano), however, is actually Amaretto.

What do you remember for sure?
