In November fall sets in in Maryland. Time falls back an hour and daylight fades earlier and earlier with each passing day.
The foliage turns many fiery shades of red, yellow, orange, and gold. One project will certainly be getting the fallen leaves out of the gutters and off the grass.
We look forward to Thanksgiving Day at the end of the month but also take time to give thanks on a daily basis for all our many blessings.
With so many projects to finish up before starting new ones I’m hoping we can really check off a few on the list as finally finished before December sets in.
We MUST finish painting the exterior of the house.
We have just a few spots on the back and side of the house to knock out and, of course, the entire front façade which may, after all, be the easiest. It would be nice if we have saved the easiest for last — for a change.
The bathrooms are scheduled to be tiled this month. I forget how long the tile setter said it would take to finish the job, maybe 2 or 3 weeks, but I’ll be happy to see this project started.
We’ve been tripping over boxes of tile spread out in various locations so as not to put too much weight in any one place.
As soon as the tile is laid and grouted, we’ve signed with the plumber to install the shower fixtures in both new bathrooms.
The bookshelves have been started in the master bedroom and I can’t wait until they’re totally in place. They will also need to be trimmed and touched-up with paint before we can begin to beautify them with books and other objets d’arts.
I’m hoping none of these projects spill over very far into December when I might just take the month off from renovation projects to celebrate. I’m sure Charlie is looking forward to the same because both of us are committed to a number of musical programs in December that will require stamina.
How’s your stamina?
