Short and Spooky Goal List

October needs a short challenge list.

The side porch is colorful with flowers.

In the past months I’ve been adding undone tasks to the new list whether or not I thought I could get them finished within the month.

All the white shingles of the outside of the house need a coat of paint.

This month is different. I’m only putting on the list items than MUST be finished by the end of the month.

Wallpapering supplies are at the ready.

Five necessary items:

  • Wallpaper the dining room

I'll try to make wallpapering progress on this wall next.

  • Final paint the dining room paneling and trim

The paneling needs at least one more coat of paint all over the dining room.

  • Paint house exterior

I think the plan is to begin painting on the side where the ladder is already set up.

Charlie and I are looking forward to a week with no rain.  He needs to paint outside this week. And I expect to be a taskmaster. Tra-la.

Do you decorate for Halloween?

Welcome to The Glade, where the second generation of renovations has just begun and the mania about our home, music and other passions fill our days and nights. We’re Charlie and Jo in the music world; Mary Jo and Charles to family; and JoJo and Charlie to each other. We are renovating a midcentury house in a Victorian historic district where we want to live there the rest of our lives. It's a 1946 house located in Maryland. We were married in this house. Thus far (pre-blog) we refinished cabinets, added a window seat (still working on the cushion), rearranged a wall in the guest house due to sink/vanity replacement, planted a vegetable garden, and other quick and not-so-quick fixes. So this latest zeal for construction is the result of my having lived here since 1997 and feeling a need to ready the house for the next chapter and beyond.
