Back in April of 2013 after my first knee operation I got serious about fitness.
Then came the renovation and another knee operation.
Basically I’ve been out of commission for a couple of years. After my knee operation in January I was ready to return to the gym and actually tried once or twice but a painful cyst had formed behind my knee which made working out (and even walking) excruciating. Exercise was counter-indicated.
Fast forward to the beginning of September when I started easy with just a walking regimen.
I have finished a month at the gym stepping up my physical activity by walking on the treadmill increasing both time and speed. Next on the list is adding my favorite circuit training routine from Jillian Michael’s book Winning By Losing.
I’m wearing my old workout gear (which fits only because it’s stretchy) until some of my idleness weight gain reduces.
I’ve cut butter from my diet and increased my water consumption.
Now I’m working on the reward I give myself when I can fit into my clothes in the next size down. Let me know if you’re interested in before and after photos.
