On A Cloudy Day

On a hot, humid, and cloudy day Let’s Face the Music was bestowed the Sunshine Blogger Award by Mr. DTG @ Ditching the Daily Grind.  Thanks for the challenge.

  3. If money was not an issue and you could indulge in one thing, what would it be? More travel. And I’d pay someone to finish the house renovation.  Oh, and I’d have a cleaning person. And someone to do the grocery shopping.
  4. What is the best compliment you’ve ever gotten? Being asked for advice by a brilliant woman.
  5. What legacy would you like to leave? I would like to be remembered for loving God.
  6. What do you prefer: beach or mountains (this should an easy one)? Beach by far.  Charlie and I were born in “the land of pleasant living, the shores of the Chesapeake Bay” which is where we still live. A trip to the mountains is nice but we are water folks.

Welcome to The Glade, where the second generation of renovations has just begun and the mania about our home, music and other passions fill our days and nights. We’re Charlie and Jo in the music world; Mary Jo and Charles to family; and JoJo and Charlie to each other. We are renovating a midcentury house in a Victorian historic district where we want to live there the rest of our lives. It's a 1946 house located in Maryland. We were married in this house. Thus far (pre-blog) we refinished cabinets, added a window seat (still working on the cushion), rearranged a wall in the guest house due to sink/vanity replacement, planted a vegetable garden, and other quick and not-so-quick fixes. So this latest zeal for construction is the result of my having lived here since 1997 and feeling a need to ready the house for the next chapter and beyond.
