The Weather Outside is Frightful

On tap today is painting the conservatory.

The steps lead into the conservatory from the back yard.

Charlie finished priming it yesterday.

The ceiling is the halfway point in the conservatory.

I went to our local hardware store that is having a “20% off anything you can fit in one bag” sale and bought 3 gallons of paint, batteries for all the smoke alarms, and mouse traps.

I finally decided the ceiling will be blue -- Hydrangea.

The final color selection for the conservatory is “Hydrangea” by Eddie Bauer for the ceiling .  .  .

At the last minute I decided we should paint the bathroom ceiling BM’s “Moonshine” which we have used in the mudroom and hallways both upstairs and down.

Let's add a few more inches of snow to the landscape.

We’re expecting another big snowstorm so spending the weekend housebound with paint brush in hand is the action plan. I’m sure we’ll run out of time before we run out of tasks.

What have you been putting off that could be solved by a shut-in weekend?

Welcome to The Glade, where the second generation of renovations has just begun and the mania about our home, music and other passions fill our days and nights. We’re Charlie and Jo in the music world; Mary Jo and Charles to family; and JoJo and Charlie to each other. We are renovating a midcentury house in a Victorian historic district where we want to live there the rest of our lives. It's a 1946 house located in Maryland. We were married in this house. Thus far (pre-blog) we refinished cabinets, added a window seat (still working on the cushion), rearranged a wall in the guest house due to sink/vanity replacement, planted a vegetable garden, and other quick and not-so-quick fixes. So this latest zeal for construction is the result of my having lived here since 1997 and feeling a need to ready the house for the next chapter and beyond.
