Home Goods That Would Look Good at My House

I stopped by Home Good after work yesterday to see if there was something I just couldn’t live without. As soon as I walked into the store I spotted a spotted vase.

A blue and yellow (my colors) Hungarian 15-inch vase.

I found some really nice things in my color palette and Glade style.

$20, are you kidding?

While nothing that I looked at was actually cheap, the prices were reasonable.

A stack of petite colanders was really attractive.

The I wandered over to housewares where I saw some cute utensils.

I love the pear dish towel and didn't notice until I saw the photo that the prints hanging beside it co-ordinate well.

I always like to check out the kitchen towels because the colors and styles are great in the kitchen but also can brighten up  the powder room.

These lamps would look good in any room. (Well, any room in my house.)

Lamps were next where a pair of blue and white (actually pale grey) ginger jar style lamps (approximately 18 inches tall with the shades) cost $50 each.

Blue and grey and grey and blue easy to clean Safavieh throw rugs.

Some cute throw rugs at $20 each were plentiful.

If I bought these garden seats I would need both of them.

I seriously love these two green metal garden seats. They would be great indoors or out.  If the color doesn’t suit these would be fun to spray paint.

Pillows were sorted by color and tied together in pairs.

Four rows of pillows would almost guarantee you could find something in the right color.

Home Goods stocked multiple olive oil jugs which would be a bright accent in my house.

Finally I love this foot-tall olive oil jug in yellow ochre glaze.

I saw this kitchen grater which looked interesting. I wonder if it works well.

I didn’t find anything this trip to lug home but I was tempted.

I have not been perked nor paid to write this post about Home Goods.

What’s your favorite color combination?

Welcome to The Glade, where the second generation of renovations has just begun and the mania about our home, music and other passions fill our days and nights. We’re Charlie and Jo in the music world; Mary Jo and Charles to family; and JoJo and Charlie to each other. We are renovating a midcentury house in a Victorian historic district where we want to live there the rest of our lives. It's a 1946 house located in Maryland. We were married in this house. Thus far (pre-blog) we refinished cabinets, added a window seat (still working on the cushion), rearranged a wall in the guest house due to sink/vanity replacement, planted a vegetable garden, and other quick and not-so-quick fixes. So this latest zeal for construction is the result of my having lived here since 1997 and feeling a need to ready the house for the next chapter and beyond.

  1. You have such a beautiful home, and I love the colors with which you decorated it, but I realized while looking through this post that very little of what you chose would work in my own home. I have used a lot of red and purple and very little blue in this house.

    1. Isn’t it fun to visit each other’s beautiful home and appreciate it and still love our own space to reflect us? I’m cool and you’re HOT with a side of exotic! SSSSSS! Jo
