Saturday’s Diverse Plan

I already posted that the drywall finisher is coming bright and early this morning to get started on the conservatory and master suite.

This entire load of drywall has been hung for ages and is finally getting the finishing it needs before being painted.

Yesterday Charlie cleared up as much of those two rooms as possible. Then he hung plastic sheeting so the insidious plaster dust would be held at bay.

My plan for me  today is to finish getting all the tax information together.  I know my last bits of information from banks will arrive on February 14 ♥ so I want to be ready to send everything to the accountant at that time.

This tax information packet is my project.

I don’t know what Charlie’s plans for today are but I hope he’s planning to make coffee for everybody. If he wants to cook also I wouldn’t say no.

I had the stitches removed from my knee yesterday so while not 100% I am getting around better than I was a week ago.

They hurt my feet and I'll never wear them -- out they go.

I’m finally ready to part with 7 pairs of shoes.

The shades need a traditional curtain rod -- the other hardware is attached.

Also leaving is a pair of fully-lined balloon shades I made back in the 80s for my first house. I’m not sure I shouldn’t try to make them work in the new closet but I’ll take that chance.

We're planning to put doors on the master closet but it gets the afternoon sun and might need a shade (or something) on the window.

I hope your plans for this weekend are more fun than mine however I’ll be relieved to have some serious finishing and finalizing done with.  I hate when things are hanging over my head.

What’s hanging over your head? Literally or figuratively?

Welcome to The Glade, where the second generation of renovations has just begun and the mania about our home, music and other passions fill our days and nights. We’re Charlie and Jo in the music world; Mary Jo and Charles to family; and JoJo and Charlie to each other. We are renovating a midcentury house in a Victorian historic district where we want to live there the rest of our lives. It's a 1946 house located in Maryland. We were married in this house. Thus far (pre-blog) we refinished cabinets, added a window seat (still working on the cushion), rearranged a wall in the guest house due to sink/vanity replacement, planted a vegetable garden, and other quick and not-so-quick fixes. So this latest zeal for construction is the result of my having lived here since 1997 and feeling a need to ready the house for the next chapter and beyond.

    1. Thank you so much. As you know, while rehabbing, the house goes from not-too-bad to disaster-area back to getting-there. I watching your progress as well. Jo
