Gosh, We Had a Great Party

We had a great time at our New Year’s Eve Party.  All the ladies showed up in tiaras, if that gives you any idea.

I'm sure some of the tiaras came from the safe deposit box. Mine was made especially for me (last woman on the right).

Since Charlie and I spent New Year’s Day taking down all our Christmas decorations, only the photos remain.

Everything was bright and sparkly.

The buffet table looked nice.

We had candles lit all over the house.

On New Year' Day we undecorated the tree and took it down.

Once Charlie sat down at the piano, the evening turned into an impromptu sing-along.

If you can sing it, Charlie can play it.

And at midnight we kissed and/or had baci — or both.

Kisses for everyone.

This weekend we’ll begin on the bathrooms.

I'll clear this room (master bathroom) today.

First item: clear the clutter.

What’s your first item on the 2015 list?

Welcome to The Glade, where the second generation of renovations has just begun and the mania about our home, music and other passions fill our days and nights. We’re Charlie and Jo in the music world; Mary Jo and Charles to family; and JoJo and Charlie to each other. We are renovating a midcentury house in a Victorian historic district where we want to live there the rest of our lives. It's a 1946 house located in Maryland. We were married in this house. Thus far (pre-blog) we refinished cabinets, added a window seat (still working on the cushion), rearranged a wall in the guest house due to sink/vanity replacement, planted a vegetable garden, and other quick and not-so-quick fixes. So this latest zeal for construction is the result of my having lived here since 1997 and feeling a need to ready the house for the next chapter and beyond.
