In order to start our renovation at The Glade we need a building permit.
Our contractor applied for one on June 14th with the result that by June 21st it had been OK’d by every department EXCEPT the health department.
The health department required us to tell them more about our septic system and to assure them we’re not adding any bedrooms. On August 13th our contractor resubmitted the plans with the following changes: 1.) no door between the dining room and conservatory and
2.) a note that the roof of the conservatory is an exterior roof just in case some day someone decided to enclose that area and make it a bedroom.
With every ”i” dotted and every “t” crossed we’re almost to the end of the beginning. Actually the pre-beginning since nothing can officially start until the contractor has a permit in his hand.
Yippee ki yo ki yay! On August 21st, just 2 months and a week after applying for a building permit we’ve been approved.
