In early spring we often have little pots and trays of dirt with buried seeds sitting by our windows.
At first the trays are covered with clear plastic to keep in the humidity.
Once the seeds start to sprout they need to be GENTLY watered.
Charlie used his electric drill to create a nice watering container that he’ll have no qualms pitching in the trash once the seedlings are planted in the garden.
This watering vessel could be made with a plastic milk jug or any kind of carton that is water-tight.
Even though the holes in this prototype were drilled, I bet a nail or awl would accomplish the same function of boring holes in the plastic top.
Can’t wait until these wee plants are in the potager for the summer and our window sills are empty again.
Have you upcycled any trash lately?
