Tablecloth Details

After Christmas we used a tablecloth that has been in my family since about 1960. I remember a Dutch friend giving the cloth and the matching napkins to my mother as a gift.

This cloth goes with almost any color scheme.

I guess I assumed it was from The Netherlands and I’ve always loved it.

The tablecloth fabric is an ecru shade with colorful cross-stitch of Dutch blue lines and bouquets of flowers.

It just fits our dining table at The Glade.

My next chore is to remove the decades old stains (of which there are not too many considering the years of holiday use) from this heirloom.

The hanging corners are ornately stitched with baskets and wreaths of flowers.

We have several items that have been passed down to us that we just cherish and love. They are what really create a home, filled with all the memories of our past, our ancestry.
