Get Rid of 50 Things: The Autumn Leave Now 10

Everybody is blogging about decluttering and living with less stuff. Me too. I started getting rid of never-gonna-use-again things here and here and here.

1. My grandmother’s rocking chair. SOLD! on Craigslist to a lovely lady who is having it reupholstered.

I reupholstered this chair in the 1970s but it needs another update.

2. Vintage Emenee Electric Organ SOLD!  on Craigslist.  It weighed a ton and now it’s history.

3. Apple Wireless Keyboard SOLD! on Craigslist.

Another kind of keyboard.

4. The hard drive was sold with the Apple keyboard.

Yep, sold.

5.  Fax machine, maybe the heaviest one on earth. It’s heading to the dump (the electronics section).

This old fax machine uses paper on a roll.

6.  An old speaker and a control panel that lost control a long time ago.

A detached speaker and a metal component.

7. One speaker whose mate is no longer around and a little shorty. Oddly enough we have front covers for 2 large speakers. I’m tired of moving these dinosaurs around. Out they go.

Two speakers that obviously don’t go together.

8. A taped up power tester and an old cassette player.

We haven’t used either of these for over ten years; I’m pretty sure we can live without them.

9. An old boom box.

Bye bye, Boom Boom.

10. We burned a trash bag full of old checks, bank statements, etc. from the early 1990s.

Another bag of “important” papers — GONE!

Wow! 40 down, 10 to go.

Can you believe how cavalier I am about counting 2 things as one? I’m sure when we start to pull down the Christmas decorations I’ll find plenty to toss.

Have you made any great purchases? Great price? Great item?

  1. Nice! :) Doesn’t it feel great to let go of things that you just know you’re not going to use anymore. We started that process earlier this year, and even though we’ve gotten rid of tons of stuff, it seems like we always find more. We have got to finally get around to putting some stuff on ebay though. The pile it just getting ridiculous!
