Autumn Mantle at The Glade

I’m not much of a seasonal decorator. I don’t mind things staying the same if it looks good.

A first attempt at a fall mantle change-up

Finally, however, I thought it time to change the mantle decoration I put together for our “South of the Border” party.

Using the same elements as above I made a switcheroo.

The one color I’m focussing on this fall is RED.  I don’t usually have red in the scheme but it seems to be available to me along with natural browns and brass.

Red pillar candles in brass holders lend substance.

I made an apothecary jar full of hazelnuts here. And I cut a small sprig of burnished hydrangea to display in a petite cloche.

As I started looking around I found some Russian toys.

Natural wood toys with red details.

And a new sign Charlie’s mother brought over to us.

Whimsy and tradition create an autumn mantlescape.

Do you change things up on a regular basis or on a whim?
